Lesson Plan for October 24- 28

Ms. Mari's and Ms. Carmen's Twos and Three’s!



October 24, 2011 –October 28, 2011


Theme of the Month: Textures


Letter of the week: The letter Ii


Number of the week: 9


Color of the week: Gray


7:00-8:00 Free play, reading, and dancing!


Students can come into the class room and play quietly. They can also grab a book and read on a bean bag (which they love to do!) Or I usually play their favorite music and they can dance!


8:00-8:30 Breakfast


Students have conversations amongst themselves while listening to educational music.


8:45-9:00 Potty time (we go after Ms. Vicki’s class)


Children will line up on their number with the safe hands method and proceed to the potty and sit on their assigned shape, students that wear underwear usually always go first on the potty. Children that use pull ups are checked to see if they are dry or wet. If they are dry they stay with the same pull up and


use the potty, if they are wet the pull up is changed and is told to use the potty!


9:00 to 9:10 Practice our ABC’s two times, count numbers, and a read a book to the students. Regarding the letter of the week.


9:10-9:30 Activity (see below for date that applies)


Monday: Making an igloo


Tuesday: Ice art project


Wednesday: Writing Wednesday


Thursday: Counting Activity


Friday: Make an Ii book


9:30-9:45 Free play (Students choice of free play except the sand box only two students at a time)


9:45-9:50 Clean up (students clean up after themselves)


9:50-10:00 Potty Time


(Children will line up on their number with the safe hands method and proceed to the potty and sit on their assigned shape, students that wear underwear usually always go first on the potty.)


10:00-10:20 Morning snack (Ms. Mari is on break Tammie covers break until 10:30)


Students listen to music (teachers’ choice!)


10:20-10:30 Potty Time


(Children will line up on their number with the safe hands method and proceed to the potty and sit on their assigned shape, students that wear underwear usually always go first on the potty.)






10:30-11:30 OUTSIDE TIME!


Independent play or group play: soccer, writing with chalk, blowing bubbles etc….


11:30 Back in the classroom to relax, cool down, and drink water!


11:45 Potty Time


(Children will line up on their number with the safe hands method and proceed to the potty and sit on their assigned shape, students that wear underwear usually always go first on the potty.)


12:00-12:30 Lunch Time (Cots are set up during lunch)


12:35 Wash hands and Potty time


Wash hands, students using underwear are asked to use the potty again before naptime!


12:45-2:50 Naptime


3:00-3:10 Potty Time


(Children will line up on their number with the safe hands method and proceed to the potty and sit on their assigned shape, students that wear underwear usually always go first on the potty.)


3:10-3:25 Snack time with Ms. Carmen


Listening to educational music during snack time.


3:25-3:35 Wash hands and Potty time


Wash hands, students using underwear are asked to use the potty again before going outside.


3:40-4:15 Outside


4:15-4:20 Come back in and Wash Hands


4:20-4:50 Table activity: (See Below)


Monday: work with the number 9 worksheet; color the number and the word


Tuesday: color upper and lowercase Ii worksheet (art project)


Wednesday: color, count, and write the number 9 (art project)


Thursday: circle pictures that start with the letter Ii sound, then color (worksheet)


Friday: trace the letter Ii upper/lower case worksheet


4:50-5:00 Potty Time


(Children will line up on their number with the safe hands method and proceed to the potty and sit on their assigned shape, students that wear underwear usually always go first on the potty.)






5:00- 6:00 Story times, free play, clean up
